Leaving for a visit to the Taj Mahal tomorrow - 15th August 2008 to return sometime during the afternoon of 16th August - Rakshabandhan.

First news: Taj Mahal remains closed every Friday. So won't be able to visit the Taj tomorrow.

The schedule is:

Delhi to Mathura

Spend some time at Mathura looking out for

• Shri Krishna Janmasthan
• Gita Mandir
• Dwarkadheesh Temple
• Vishram Ghat
• Kans Qila
• Sati Burj

Then drive down to Sikandra Fort before reaching Agra

At Agra, first check the bookings that we've done for the night and then if we have sufficient time, we head to Agra Fort to catch a glimpse of the Taj from afar. The Agra fort is also the Red Fort of Agra with important things to watch out for being:

• Diwan-E-Khas
• Diwan-E-Aam
• Octagonal Tower
• Moti Masjid
• Jahangir Palace
• Sheesh Mahal
• Machhi Bhavan
• Anguri Bagh etc.

The agra fort is optional, but Fatehpur Sikri is a must to be covered tomorrow evening. The Buland Darwaza awaits me. ;)

Then by evening back to Agra for the night. The following day, we head to the Taj early in the morning and then back to Delhi.
